Oscar Urbina started dancing at a young age. He coached and directed Hubbard Bachata Club (high school dance team) for 12 years. During this period of time under his direction, the team was able to obtain 1st place in all three high school dance competitions hosted in Chicago. Oscar has trained under the direction of Zeke Ruvalcaba in the "Bachata All-Stars". He also performed for "Alma Latina Chicago" for several years under the direction of Sarah Zuccaro and Jorge Soto. Additionally, Oscar performed with "Legacy Dance Association" a professional dance team for 2 years and trained under the direction of Reynaldo Sanchez, Priscilla Perez, and Maria Torres.
Most recently, Oscar has been part of "Kachimbo Dance Company" since it began in 2017 under the direction of Angel Martinez and Jessica Montalvo. In 2019, Oscar founded "Amicitia Dance Company" along with Karen Romero. They both coach and direct this youth dance company in the southside of Chicago that has over 35 young dancers. Oscar Urbina has overall studied and continues to train with many different professional dancers primarily from both the U.S. and Mexico.
