IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT [UPDATED JUl 14]

JULY ANNOUNCEMENT

REOPENING UPDATE:

Although the city has moved into Phase 4 of their Reopening Plan, Urbanity has decided to continue with our current virtual format for one more 4-week session. We are anxious to get back in class with you and fully reopen Urbanity, but we feel it’s important not to rush!

We want this process to be carried out in the safest way possible to protect both you and our staff; and since our dance styles require physical contact between individuals, we don’t feel it would be responsible of us to host in-person dance classes just yet even if it is at a lower capacity.

SO WHAT’S THE PLAN?

Private lessons for responsible, social distancing couples and individuals are available in person at the studio, and all group classes will be hosted virtually via Zoom throughout July.

In our August session, depending on Chicago’s progress with Covid, we plan to re-introduce in-person group classes at a reduced capacity for individual movement topics such as shines, body movement, technique, stretch, and choreo classes like Diva and Hip Hop.

Please feel free to message us with any questions you have via email. Your Urbanity family misses you dearly and hopes you all are safe and well.

We're proud to be Phase 3 Certified!

This means that we’ve attended re-opening webinars to stay informed on industry-specific standards and have developed and submitted a well-thought out plan that upholds those standards and will keep our students safe.  Here are our key points:

•  To minimize contact, all appointments must be staggered by at least 15 minutes to avoid multiple clients clustering at the front desk or in the entry ways. 30 minute gaps need to be scheduled in between each lesson to allow time to properly clean.
•  We ask that you make all purchases online before your lesson to avoid contact during payment at the front desk.
•  It is recommended that students arrive right at the time of their lesson as waiting in the studio is not permitted for early arrivals.
•  Please remember that if you have any flu/covid-like symptoms, you should not be coming into the studio.  We ask that you cancel if you are feeling ill in any way.
•  Frequent & proper hand sanitization needs to be practiced before, during, and after all lessons.

•  Per the discretion of the instructor, masks may or may not be required depending on each individual’s social distancing status and who is required to make physical contact throughout the lesson.
